What are the requirements for fixtures in CNC machining centers?

2024-11-21

The fixture is an integral part of the CNC machining center. Depending on the processed product, the requirements for the fixture will also be different, and the corresponding fixture needs to be used. In general, the fixture of the CNC machining center needs to have the following properties.

CNC Machining

High precision

We know that the precision of the CNC machining center is very high, and it is generally used to process high-precision parts or molds. Therefore, the requirements for positioning accuracy in the CNC machining center are also relatively high.

Convenient and fast

In order to meet the requirements of high-speed processing in the machining center, convenient and fast fixtures are often required, so high-speed locking power such as hydraulic or pneumatic is often used. If it is a workpiece with a long processing time, a hydraulic fixture is generally used, and internal leakage is compensated during processing to prevent the fixture from loosening.

Good opening

The CNC machining center is processed by contact feeding between the tool and the workpiece. In order to achieve rapid movement of the workpiece and rapid operation of tool change, the workpiece should be clamped by the fixture to provide a relatively spacious operating space. Especially for those complex workpieces involving multiple tool changes, the fixture structure should be simple, convenient, fast, and as open as possible so that the tool can easily enter and exit, and the fixture will not collide with the workpiece during the machining operation.

High adaptability

The workpieces processed by CNC machining centers are often diverse, so the fixture needs to adapt to workpieces of various shapes.
